John Mai, President and CEO, began his career in the early 1970’s when he received his Colorado Master Plumbing license in 1974 (Lic #1211). He has operated his own business since 1975 and also holds a Denver Class A Steam & Hot Water and a Denver H&V License. John additionally holds a license in California as a Plumbing and Mechanical contractor. As a lifelong resident of Colorado, he has participated in the growth and expansion of many public and private communities while gaining the respect of his peer organizations and General Contractors through his hands-on approach to construction management.
Grant Blackstone is Vice President of Operations for MMC. He has over 30 years experience in the design and installation of Plumbing and Mechanical systems, 29 years of which have been with MMC. Grant possesses a Colorado Master Plumbing license in addition to numerous supervisory certificates for various municipalities with the state of Colorado. He attended Red Rocks Community College for Plumbing, HVAC and Engineering Studies.
In addition to being Vice President of Operations, Grant is also is the Chief Estimator for MMC. He has personally participated in all of the projects listed in MMC’s Corporate Resume/Portfolio. The projects include Mid-Rise and High-Rise Lofts, Multi-Family Apartments, Townhomes and Condominiums, Assisted Living Facilities, Schools, Churches, Mixed Use multi-family and retail, in addition to various residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Grant specializes in high density design-build/preconstruction value engineering with proven cost savings to Contractors and Developers/Owners.
Pre Construction Manager/Project Administrator
Daniel Melsen is the manager of Pre Construction for MMC and has 34 years of experience in the management, installation and completion of plumbing and mechanical systems.
Daniel has been a licensed Master plumber since 1980 and was owner/operator of two plumbing and mechanical companies over the past 25 years. He has spent the last six years in the estimating and business development division of MMC working on a wide variety of projects such as but not limited to high rises, office buildings, multi-family projects, assisted living, industrial laboratories, and many mixed use condominium projects situated over parking garages.
William "Bill" Mamula
Senior Project Manager
William Mamula is Senior Project Manager for MMC and has over 16 years experience in the Management and Installation of Plumbing and Mechanical systems, 12 years of which have been with MMC. He possesses a Colorado Masters Plumbing license and has successfully performed work in various municipalities within the state of Colorado.
Bill demonstrates the ability to manage multiple installation crews and projects simultaneously and has managed the successful completion of over 100 large projects for MMC. He manages day-to-day construction to ensure quality production within the guidelines of the Project Construction Schedule, in addition to overseeing and managing constructability issues to avoid costly delays or unnecessary costs to fellow trade partners. Bill provides the necessary knowledge and experience to design and coordinate proper and efficient installations.
Quality Control / Safety Manager
Fedor Wawra has managed numerous major projects throughout the nation including Denver, New York, Boston and Los Angeles. He brings an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry to MMC including quality control procedures, safety laws, scheduling, project management, and interaction with regulatory agencies, building owners, subcontractors, vendors, architects and consultants for successful completion of the projects in various different state and city jurisdictions. Fedor received a B.S. for Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.
In his 13 years of commercial and industrial construction experience throughout the United States, Fedor enforces, interprets and insures compliance with local and federal safety and regulatory requirements. This includes the development of project specific safety plans and maintaining relationships with members of various regulatory agencies to properly assess the agencies current interpretation of existing laws.
Mike Neville has been the purchasing manager for MMC for 22 years. His responsibilities have include provisioning, submittals, approvals, pricing, vendor relations, facilities management and overall material handling. Additionally, he has been a Colorado Master Licensed Plumber since 1998.
Controller & Office Manager
Deb Darnel is responsible for the company’s financial assets to include accounts receivable and payable bookkeeping. She prepares and controls the project tracking and accounting functions which yield the balance sheets. Additionally she manages human resources, employee relations, payroll, reception personnel and computer systems. Her experience with MMC extends beyond 20 years while her valuable knowledge covers over 30 years in the industry.
